CASA: London’s Festival of Latin American Arts

Summer is officially here, and some of you may already be preparing to leave on vacation. Others, however, will have to wait a bit longer for that well-deserved summer break. For those of you who have no choice but to daydream about more exotic locations while sitting at your desk – do not despair! July in London may not be as exciting as a trip to the Caribbean, but it is full of opportunities to explore, discover and celebrate Hispanic culture right here in the capital.

This month, practice your Spanish while you celebrate Latin American culture with the 10th edition of CASA Festival, London’s Festival of Latin American Arts. CASA 2019 will be held at the Rio Cinema, Dalston Curve Garden and the Arcola Theatre from the 16th to the 27th of July.

CASA showcases progressive, diverse and unique work by artists based throughout Latin America, as well as artists of Latin American heritage based in the UK, thus shedding light on work that might otherwise go unseen by UK audiences.

CASA 2019 will have an exciting programme of Latin American art, dance, film, music and theatre. Artists from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela will bring a taste of Latin American culture to the capital with a great variety of film screenings, performances and outdoor events.

CASA shares important aspects of Latin American culture and history across art forms, and it is an unmissable opportunity for anyone with an interest in Latin America or the arts to explore and enjoy a rich celebration of Latin American culture right here in London.
