With three matches left and one of the most amazing endings of La Liga title, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona share the top of the table with the same points.

Last week both teams had a difficult match. Barça visited their town rival RCD Espanyol and had to use all their efforts to prevent blowing their chances of winning La Liga as they did 10 years ago. They suffered during the first half but in the end secured a comfortable 3-0 win away from home.

At the same time Real Madrid played against Valencia, a team with some great players but who have had a horrible season. Madrid started with all their star players (Kroos, Modric, Ronaldo, Benzema, Ramos, James and Marcelo) even though they had to play a Champions league semi-final against Atlético de Madrid 3 days later.

And again Real Madrid did it. They managed to score in the last minute of the game when Marcelo rescued the team. A footballer once said, ‘90 minutes at Bernabéu feels like an eternity’.

Also this week Real Madrid almost booked their place in the Champions League final after beating Atlético de Madrid, 3-0 with another superb performance by Cristiano Ronaldo who scored all three goals. It will be the 4th year in a row that a Spanish team plays in the Champions League final.
