іHola! My name is María and I come from Asturias, a lovely and stunning region in north Spain.
I have a Bachelor Degree in Journalism awarded by University of The Basque Country, a PGCE in teaching Spanish from Valencian International University and I hold the British QTS too. I am also qualified as a DELE A1/A2 examiner at “Instituto Cervantes” and I have completed the Graduate Certificate in Spanish Language Teaching to Adults (GCSLTA) at University of Roehampton.
My journey to teaching was a natural progression from my passion for languages, starting with an opportunity to learn Italian at Universita degli Studi di Lecce thanks to the European Erasmus project.
Language teaching is synonymous with cultural exchange for me: by fostering an interest in language, we stimulate intercultural awareness and empathy for others. I define myself as a creative, resourceful teacher with proven ability to enhance students’ performance. I possess a positive and effective teaching style with the willingness to work above and beyond the call of duty.
I have been teaching Spanish for the past three years in UK schools and languages centres and I am looking forward to seeing you at Vamos!
