At the end of Year 7
I can introduce myself and describe my family. I am able to talk about my daily routine. I can describe my hobbies and how I spend my free time. I can talk about age and give dates. I can say what other people look like and describe their personality using verbs in the third person and make adjectives agree with nouns. I can conjugate the verbs ‘ser’ and ‘tener’ in the present tense. I can say what I like to do and give opinions using ‘me gusta’.
At the end of Year 8
I can describe my town and talk about where I live. I can talk about my holidays and travel. I am able to give a range of opinions about media, TV and music. When I describe my town or village, I can know when to use ‘ser’ and ‘estar’. I can tell the time and ask for directions with the imperative. I can conjugate and use verbs in the present tense. I can order in a café using the verb ‘querer’. I can say where I am going to go using the near future tense. I can describe the last day on holiday using the ‘preterite’ of regular and irregular verbs.
At the end of Year 9
I can talk about holiday activities, where I use frequency expressions and weather phrases. I give opinions about countries, friends and activities. I can inform about my preferences using alternatives to ‘porque’. I can book an accommodation, request specific facilities and services and deal with dates, times and prices. I can give opinions using adjectives to describe subjects, school facilities and uniforms. I can effectively talk about my social networks and online activities. I use verbs of opinion + infinitive verbs and ‘preterite’ tense verbs. I employ stem-changing verbs like ‘preferir’. I use ‘lo mejor’ and ‘lo peor’ as superlatives in a conversation. In a formal conversation I use ‘usted’ and ‘ustedes’.
