"¡Hola! My name is Yaiza and I am from Madrid.
I have a degree in Modern Languages and Literature from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and after my undergraduate I moved to France where I studied a Masters Degree in Translation at the Université d’Angers.
Working as a Teaching Assistant in a Lycée made me realise that I wanted to become a Spanish Teacher, so I began a Doctorate in Linguistics Applied to the Teaching of Foreign Languages to further my knowledge of the subject.
I have been teaching Spanish at Angers at various institutions including the town hall, the business school ESSCA and the University. I am also an official DELE examiner (awarded by the Cervantes Institute, Palermo) for A1, B1, B2 levels and I have worked as a examiner for the Cervantes Institute in France examining B1 and B2 exams.
In short I am an enthusiastic teacher who loves to share her passion for the Spanish language and culture and I am looking forward to inspiring this Spanish spirit in class and as De Waal said: “with languages you are at home everywhere” so I am looking forward to seeing you in my class and making you feel at home."

We’re a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This course is part three of the Intermediate B1 syllabus. It’s a 20 hour course over 10 weeks. You will follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.
This was a really worthwhile trip and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to brush up on their Spanish or consolidate their knowledge.
The activities were very fun and interactive. A great way to speak Spanish and learn vocabulary. Overall a great week with a great bunch of people. The restaurant options were good.
Paula is a vibrant and gifted teacher who taught us a lot about Spanish culture and art with great enthusiasm. The group gelled very well and I enjoyed the classes very much. It was all made even better by taking place in such a lovely town.
