"¡Hola! I’m Sonia, from Córdoba, a beautiful historical city in the south of Spain.
I hold a BA in English Studies, an MA in Linguistics and another Master’s Degree in Education. I also have a course from the Instituto Cervantes in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
I started teaching in my first year of university and I haven’t stopped since then. It makes 12 years now. I love teaching because it allows me to participate in something as important as the learning process of amazing individuals.
When I teach, I always try to cause, what I call, “the awe effect of your personal achievements”, which appears when you realise you are learning, understanding and producing more Spanish than you expected. I love making everyone feel comfortable and active in class, making you have fun while learning, and going home with that feeling of a satisfactory evening.
I hope to see you soon in class! ¡Hasta pronto!"

We’re a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This course is part one of the Intermediate B1 syllabus. It’s a 20 hour course over 10 weeks. You will follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.
Very enjoyable. After a long day at work I really like how the lessons are fun whilst challenging. I’m already seeing major improvements and I can’t wait to start level 3.
Really enjoyed the class and the teaching methods. Classes are relaxed. Materials used / writing exercises, listening, etc. help to understand the material better. Small class size ensures each student gets plenty of attention from the teacher.
Excellent teaching. Lively and fun lessons.
Surprised how much was covered in 10 classes. Good mix of activities, exercises and homework. Overall lot of fun. Learnt a lot! Thank you.
The classes were excellent, motivating and interactive. Carol is very attentive and always managed to get me in the mood. This is a perfect place to learn Spanish.
I really enjoy the course. It has met all my objectives and I want to continue learning Spanish. Clara is a wonderful teacher.
I continue to love my Spanish lessons! Level 4 was a big shift in difficulty but in a good way and I feel that my Spanish has improved significantly. Can’t wait for Level 5! Please can we have Clara as our teacher again 🙂
Well structured, I like that a lot of speaking is involved, Yaiza is very good in engaging all the group and energising everyone.
This is one of the best Spanish courses I have taken. I have learnt the subjunctive several times and it has never stuck before, but now I feel like I have a much better grasp of it because it was covered so thoroughly.
