"¡Hola! I’m Sonia, from Córdoba, a beautiful historical city in the south of Spain.
I hold a BA in English Studies, an MA in Linguistics and another Master’s Degree in Education. I also have a course from the Instituto Cervantes in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
I started teaching in my first year of university and I haven’t stopped since then. It makes 12 years now. I love teaching because it allows me to participate in something as important as the learning process of amazing individuals.
When I teach, I always try to cause, what I call, “the awe effect of your personal achievements”, which appears when you realise you are learning, understanding and producing more Spanish than you expected. I love making everyone feel comfortable and active in class, making you have fun while learning, and going home with that feeling of a satisfactory evening.
I hope to see you soon in class! ¡Hasta pronto!"

We’re a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This course is part one of the Intermediate B1 syllabus. It’s a 20 hour course over 10 weeks. You will follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.
The program is interactive, dynamic and fun. Andi is an excellent teacher and clearly very experienced as she always manages the needs of the group and of individuals throughout the lesson very well. See you in level 5!
It was a shame to change teachers so early, but Andi has been very supportive and patient. I think the rate we are learning at is steady giving us time to get a good foundation. I am very keen to continue learning Spanish as I have enjoyed the class and really want to master the language.
I really enjoyed learning with Paloma-This level is a lot harder than level 1. I am really happy with the amount of content during the lessons and also the right amount of homework.
Thank you! Looking forward to level 3 later this year.
Very pleased. We would like to continue but just need to see if new can fit it in our schedule. Overall very satisfied.
I think classes were great. I really enjoyed all the classes. Amalia is a very good teacher and really focusing on the grammar, and making sure everybody understands. Explain things very thoroughly. Only missed games 🙂
Lessons were fun and easy to comprehend. The lesson summaries were also very helpful. Carmen, our teacher, was excellent and very helpful and made our lessons very pleasant and fun.
I really enjoyed the course and thought it was very engaging. I liked the fact catch up classes were available and the homework was sent via email to help. I thought the lessons were enjoyable and I’m excited to continue.
Very enjoyable. Andi is a very good teacher and keeps the class engaged throughout.
It really helped me to understand and indeed learn the Spanish grammar. We also practised listening comprehension, speaking and writing in Spanish which I also tried to practise on my own (on my leisure time).
