"¡Hola! I’m Sonia, from Córdoba, a beautiful historical city in the south of Spain.
I hold a BA in English Studies, an MA in Linguistics and another Master’s Degree in Education. I also have a course from the Instituto Cervantes in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
I started teaching in my first year of university and I haven’t stopped since then. It makes 12 years now. I love teaching because it allows me to participate in something as important as the learning process of amazing individuals.
When I teach, I always try to cause, what I call, “the awe effect of your personal achievements”, which appears when you realise you are learning, understanding and producing more Spanish than you expected. I love making everyone feel comfortable and active in class, making you have fun while learning, and going home with that feeling of a satisfactory evening.
I hope to see you soon in class! ¡Hasta pronto!"

We’re a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This course is part two of the Elementary A2 syllabus. It’s a 20 hour course over 10 weeks. You will follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.
Very interesting, informative and interactive. The teacher was fantastic and made the lessons fun.
Excellent course. Noelia was a very good teacher, extremely encouraging, helpful, friendly. Nice friendly class. A good size. Highly recommend it! Thank you.
I thought the course moved at a great pace and working through activities in class really helped with remembering words and grammar. Ruth is an excellent teacher who is always happy to explain anything to the class.
I am consistently aware with how much I learn with Andrea. I look forward to continuing my course with her!
The course was great and Clara was fantastic! She is passionate and makes you feel comfortable, she is always pushing you to talk Spanish and the method with the exercises in groups is really good; it obliges you to talk to the other students. It’s great having the documents, lessons and summaries digitally (pdf, word, etc) as it’s easier to carry and read on the train.
An engaging and enjoyable program. Carol is a committed and enthusiastic teacher who helps make the course even more fun. I would recommend it to anyone thinking about Spanish.
Ruth is an excellent teacher and has a lot of patience which is definitely needed at times. The course book, handouts and homework are beneficial to the learning process and are of a high standard.
Very enjoyable class. I felt I learnt a lot!
I think the lessons are very entertaining and engaging. I am very pleased with the pace of the lessons. We cover a lot but it is also repeated to help us remember and yet we manage to move on to new subjects quickly. I have studied languages at school, university and in after-work evening classes in the past and I would say that this course is one of the most animated I have attended. It keeps me engaged for the whole 2 hours. I like the fact Enric speaks mainly in Spanish.
