"¡Hola a todos!
I’m Nereida from Barcelona, but while I have lived in this lovely city for 16 years, I was born in Ecuador, South America.
I studied a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, majoring in English and Spanish at the University of Barcelona and I hold a Master of Arts in Discourse Studies: Communication, Society & Learning from Pompeu Fabra University. I also have a Certificate in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from International House, where I learned the principles of the communicative approach.
I love teaching Spanish as much as I love learning languages. I think being able to speak a second language is important because it gives us the ability to communicate and understand other cultures and perspectives.
I have taught language and culture to both adults and children and always make my lessons enjoyable, whilst challenging my students to develop to the best of their abilities.
I want to share with you my passion for intercultural communication! Ludwig Wittgenstein said “The limits of my language mean the limits of my world” so come to my lessons to expand your limits!
¡Nos vemos pronto!

We’re a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This is part two of 3 levels that form the A1 starting point to learning Spanish. It’s a 20 hour course over 10 weeks aimed at students who have completed level 1. You will follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.
This was a really worthwhile trip and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to brush up on their Spanish or consolidate their knowledge.
The activities were very fun and interactive. A great way to speak Spanish and learn vocabulary. Overall a great week with a great bunch of people. The restaurant options were good.
Paula is a vibrant and gifted teacher who taught us a lot about Spanish culture and art with great enthusiasm. The group gelled very well and I enjoyed the classes very much. It was all made even better by taking place in such a lovely town.
