"¡Hola! I´m Carolina from Madrid, the “heart of Spain” although I was born in Barcelona!
I have a Degree in English Studies, specialising in Language and Literature and I also have a PGCE (CAP Certificate).
After finishing my University studies in Spain I qualified with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in the UK and since then I have been teaching Spanish for more than 12 years.
I really enjoy sharing my knowledge of the language with people from all over the world and I hope you will enjoy my lessons at Vamos!!"

We’re a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This course is part four of the Intermediate B1 syllabus. It’s a 20-hour course over 10 weeks. You will follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.
The course programme was very flexible which worked around my work commitments. The course helped me to achieve a basic level of Spanish and I look forward to level 2. Andi our teacher was great!
Fun, interactive, intuitive. Good progression.
Really enjoyable, all teachers are very friendly and want you to do your best.
The course was with a wide range of teaching methods and fun activities. It was good that the class got to work together to help each other. The teacher was flexible with different learning activities. I would recommend the course to people.
Very good. Very though out. Teacher is experienced.
The programme is very good and Andi’s teaching is excellent. I sometimes found the pace a little slow, but appreciate that’s because of the mixture of different people in the group.
Enjoyed the classes and the teaching. There was a good, positive attitude. I’m just sorry I couldn’t put more time into the study!
I thought that this level re-inforced and revised what we have done grammatically in the other levels. Nereida’s clear and logical approach helped me feel more confident with using the difference preteritos and in particular selecting indicativo o subjuntivo verbos. I especially enjoyed the lessons on gestures and their meanings. I feel that this reflects even more on the culture and cultural differences between Spanish-speaking countries which interests me a lot.
Nereida’s readily-available knowledge on many different areas of Latin American culture and customs was invaluable to my learning and further discovery. I really loved the activities we did for this topic as well and that she encouraged us to do our own research for these to feedback to the class- I discovered even more interesting this from my classmates too!
The program met all expectations. Carmen is such a lovely person and it was a pleasure to have her as my teacher.
I will be continuing (for sure!) but moving down to one night a week due to work
