"¡Hola! I’m Sonia, from Córdoba, a beautiful historical city in the south of Spain.
I hold a BA in English Studies, an MA in Linguistics and another Master’s Degree in Education. I also have a course from the Instituto Cervantes in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
I started teaching in my first year of university and I haven’t stopped since then. It makes 12 years now. I love teaching because it allows me to participate in something as important as the learning process of amazing individuals.
When I teach, I always try to cause, what I call, “the awe effect of your personal achievements”, which appears when you realise you are learning, understanding and producing more Spanish than you expected. I love making everyone feel comfortable and active in class, making you have fun while learning, and going home with that feeling of a satisfactory evening.
I hope to see you soon in class! ¡Hasta pronto!"

We’re a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This is part one of 3 levels that form the A1 starting point to learning Spanish. It’s a 20 hour course over 5 weeks. You will follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.
I thought it was really engaging and used a variety of teaching methods to appeal to all different learning abilities e.g. games, talking activities, listening and reading. Sandra’s a really fun, energetic teacher and I’ve really enjoyed learning with her. I would highly recommend the school. Great and fast communication as well.
The course was excellent. It exceeded all of my expectations. The standard of teaching is exceptional and the best I have encountered at the different schools I have studied. The classes are fun and interactive with a fun group of other students.
The program covered what I expected to learn well and all the teachers I have met have been very enthusiastic about teaching.
Really good introduction to the basics of Spanish. Carol is an excellent and enthusiastic profesora.
Still good fun and I can see my development/improvement since last year.
It’s been a great course, at a good pace. Andrea is so patient and helpful. She makes the class interactive and always fun.
The standard of teaching is excellent. There is a good mix of activities which makes learning enjoyable, and covers a lot of information in a short time.
Really enjoyed the course. Everything explained to help my overall understanding. Loved the emailed lessons and extra homework available and also the tapas/conversation evenings. Carla is an excellent teacher!
Very interesting, interactive, a lot of activities, speaking, practising and writing.
