"іHola! My name is María and I come from Asturias, a lovely and stunning region in north Spain.
I have a Bachelor Degree in Journalism awarded by University of The Basque Country, a PGCE in teaching Spanish from Valencian International University and I hold the British QTS too. I am also qualified as a DELE A1/A2 examiner at “Instituto Cervantes” and I have completed the Graduate Certificate in Spanish Language Teaching to Adults (GCSLTA) at University of Roehampton.
My journey to teaching was a natural progression from my passion for languages, starting with an opportunity to learn Italian at Universita degli Studi di Lecce thanks to the European Erasmus project.
Language teaching is synonymous with cultural exchange for me: by fostering an interest in language, we stimulate intercultural awareness and empathy for others. I define myself as a creative, resourceful teacher with proven ability to enhance students' performance. I possess a positive and effective teaching style with the willingness to work above and beyond the call of duty.
I have been teaching Spanish for the past three years in UK schools and languages centres and I am looking forward to seeing you at Vamos!"

We’re a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This is part one of 3 levels that form the A1 starting point to learning Spanish. It’s a 20 hour course over 5 weeks. You will follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.
Vamos is fantastic! The classes are interactive and varied in content so each week it’s really easy to build on your exisiting knowledge…
This was the most incredible weekend with memories which will last a lifetime! All in all a 5/5 rating is a real understatement and a testament to the way in which teaching Spanish should be done!
Vamos do everything they can to support adult learners, appreciating the fact that our busy lives may mean we miss occasional classes so they provide ‘catch up’ opportunities…
