"¡Hola a todos! I'm Victoria from Gijón, a coastal city in the north of Spain.
I have a degree in Philology and a Master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as Foreign Language, which I obtained at the University of Oviedo. I also have a Master's degree in Teaching obtained at the University of Salamanca.
I have taught Spanish for several years in China, where I worked as an official DELE examiner for A1, A2, B1 and B2 levels at the Cervantes Institute.
I think learning a language is not only about memorising grammar or vocabulary, but enjoying it and having fun while you discover a new world. That's the reason I make communicative and enjoyable classes where students become confident in their skills and share their knowledge.
I'm looking forward to meeting you at Vamos and starting a new adventure together!"

We’re a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This is part one of 3 levels that form the A1 starting point to learning Spanish. It’s a 20 hour course over 10 weeks. You will follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.
Really enjoyed it!
Great variety of different activities to practise different aspects of Spanish. Always enjoyable and a brilliant teacher. I also had a lot of fun at the conversation classes/tapas nights and met some great people.
Looking forward to the next level.
I am enjoying the course and am determined to continue to complete all levels. I am confident that next time when I visit Spain, I will be able to speak and understand local people, which is a great achievement. Amaya Alonso, my teacher, is an amazing person, a very gifted professional. Once again, thank you Russell for keeping this school running.
I like your course program. That’s even more than I expected to get. I have been studying for almost a year and now I feel completely different in Spain, able to talk and understand what people say. I will continue to study with pleasure.
Many thanks to Carla!
I learnt so much more in 10 weeks of doing this course than in 5 years of teaching myself through podcast, so I thought it was well worth the money! Elvira is a very good teacher and makes the lessons fun! I am looking forward to the next level.
Really well formatted and organised. Great fun and range of learning techniques. Made it a really great way to learn Spanish. Teaching was excellent and enthusiastic and engaging.
Met my objectives. Clearly improved my language skills. Aixa was really patient and teaches everything clearly. So it was easy to follow. Looking forward to the next level.
Found it challenging at times but really enjoyed the course. It is a great group with a fantastic teacher. Looking forward to level 9.
I was happy with the program and Andrea is a great teacher! Thanks Andrea.
Loved this course! The variety of different teaching methods keeps it interesting and engaging + wonderful teacher! The only thing I would have liked to focus on more would be travel related conversations – eg. Asking for directions, ordering food at restaurants, etc. Maybe this is covered in conversation classes but unfortunately I haven’t been able to attend yet.
