"¡Hola! I’m Andrea from Bilbao, in the north of Spain!

I have a 4-year degree in Spanish Studies from the University of Deusto, which covered linguistics, literature, grammar and the history of the Spanish language and I later qualified as a teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language.

I am an official DELE examiner (awarded by Institute Cervantes, London) for levels A1 to C2 and since joining Vamos in September 2012, I am also one of the school's academic managers where part of my responsibilities includes the recruitment and training of new teachers.

My teaching style places particular emphasis on the communicative approach and I always want my students to get the most out of their lesson.

I love teaching so much that it hardly feels like a job and I hope you enjoy your course at ¡Vamos!"

This is a 10-hour course over 5 weeks. It’s fun and informal, specially aligned to the A1 syllabus and a great way to help you practise. Students must have completed level 2 before joining this course.

Classes start with a short grammar and vocabulary revision exercise, followed by a variety of games, roleplays, music and videos all designed to get you talking.

Review the alphabet.
Review the numbers.
Give personal information.
Talk about your family.
Describe people.

Week 2

Describe the neighbourhood.
Locate places in a city (preposition of places).
Talk about homes, rooms and furniture.
Express likes and interest.
Express agreement and disagreement.

Week 3

Presente of regular and irregular verbs.
Ask and provide information about routines.
Ask and provide information about work.
Ask and provide information about free time activities.
Ask and provide information about housework.
Make plans.

Week 4

Pretérito indefinido of regular verbs.
Express actions done yesterday.
Pretérito indefinido’s time expressions.
Hispanic world.

Week 5

Pretérito indefinido of irregular verbs.
Talk about experiences.
Talk about holidays in the past.
Talk about biographies.
