"Hola! I'm Amaya from the famous city of Salamanca!
I studied at University of Salamanca where in addition to my Spanish teaching degree I obtained a Masters degree in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
I have many years experience in the education sector, including seven as a class teacher (three at Salamanca University) and one as an A-level teacher in London.
Since joining Vamos in March 2012 I have helped develop the school's academic department as well as extra activities here at Holborn and in Spain. In addition to teaching, special projects remains part of my role.
I do hope you enjoy your experience at Vamos. With such a warm and friendly atmosphere it’s really fun to learn!
We're a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This course is part three of the Intermediate B1 syllabus.
It’s a 20 hour course during which you follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.

Amaya’s interactive, bubbly teaching helps a to engage students and encourage interaction and further learning.
The conversation class & social events also help to encourage students to become more engaged in learning Spanish in a fun way.
The programme was good and I enjoyed learning Spanish. The catch up classes are useful.
The lessons are very good to cover the material and Maria presents everything in an engaging way.
The second level was a lot of fun, just like the first. We learned a lot over a short period of time! The course is definitely getting harder, but I am looking forward to level 3!
Very interactive, I learnt so much vocabulary in a short space of time but because of the different teaching methods it didn’t feel like too much information. Spending time on the homework is a must. Also, I appreciated that I could have a catch up class when I had to miss one.
Very good, Level 4 is a big step up from Level 3.
Vamos program is a really fun way to learn Spanish. Level 1 covered a lot of topics which felt quite fast but it is amazing how much you have learnt at the end of the course. The interactive parts of the course are really useful. Romina was brilliant- Thank you!
Very interactive and challenging. Paula works so hard to engage with everyone. Good school-recommended to friends who have just completed level 1.
Excellent programme – especially being able to do 2 classes a week. It felt like we learnt so quickly. Teaching is excellent too – lots of enthusiasm and great at making things stick in your mind.
