"¡Hola! I’m Sonia, from Córdoba, a beautiful historical city in the south of Spain.
I hold a BA in English Studies, an MA in Linguistics and another Master’s Degree in Education. I also have a course from the Instituto Cervantes in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
I started teaching in my first year of university and I haven’t stopped since then. It makes 12 years now. I love teaching because it allows me to participate in something as important as the learning process of amazing individuals.
When I teach, I always try to cause, what I call, “the awe effect of your personal achievements”, which appears when you realise you are learning, understanding and producing more Spanish than you expected. I love making everyone feel comfortable and active in class, making you have fun while learning, and going home with that feeling of a satisfactory evening.
I hope to see you soon in class! ¡Hasta pronto!"
We're a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This course is part three of the Intermediate B1 syllabus.
It’s a 20 hour course during which you follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.

I enjoyed the lesson and the interaction for all the classes I had attended.
I think that the program is perfect and I am sure that exactly teachers make this program to be perfect. I am very happy with my teachers, especially with Noelia!
And I also like the book! Thank you very much 🙂
Everything was great : ) Alberto was very attentive and patient and I’d like to come back for the next level.
Having missed several midweek classes , I found the catch up classes on Saturday to be interesting and furthered my interest in proceeding to the next level. I appreciated the generosity in allowing me to complete Level 1.
The program was well structured and interactive. Students had a chance to put what they’d learnt into practice and were able to ask as many questions as they needed.
Thought the course was fantastic, had good fun and most importantly learnt a lot. Was pushed hard but was worth it and Sandra was a fantastic teacher. Would highly recommend this course.
This was a useful level which revised many topics covered previously, but at a higher level. I enjoy Paula’s lessons and her teaching style.
Andrea is really engaging, always happy to help and has lots of patience with us!
Loved the course, loved the school, loved Vanessa!
