"¡Hola! I’m Andrea from Bilbao, in the north of Spain!
I have a 4-year degree in Spanish Studies from the University of Deusto, which covered linguistics, literature, grammar and the history of the Spanish language and I later qualified as a teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language.
I am an official DELE examiner (awarded by Institute Cervantes, London) for levels A1 to C2.
Since joining Vamos in September 2012, I became part of the academic department where my responsibilities included the recruitment and training of new teachers.
I am now the school's Director of Studies.
My teaching style places particular emphasis on the communicative approach and I always want my students to get the most out of their lesson.
I love teaching so much that it hardly feels like a job and I hope you enjoy your course at ¡Vamos!"
We're a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This course is part one of the Intermediate B1 syllabus.
It’s a 20 hour course during which you follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.

I think the course helped to improve my language skills a lot. This time we focused a lot on ‘subjuntivo’ which helped. I like having role plays or conversations to learn the language and would always appreciate having more conversational exercises.
Estupendo! I really enjoy my Spanish classes and it is what I really look forward to while at work. Yaiza teaches very well, and I will continue to the next level.
Very enjoyable and a welcome treat after work. Aixa has a wonderful teaching style, patient and enthusiastic which is encouraging to those of us who need the helping hard.
A great structure and good teacher. I really enjoyed my time at Vamos and always looked forward to the classes.
Doing Vamos Spanish lessons has been brilliant! Ruth was a great teacher and the lessons were fun and very useful for progressing my Spanish!
Patricia is a very good teacher, very effective and fun to learn from. Always helpful and cheery. For sure I’m coming back for Level 2.
I thought the course moved at a great pace and working through activities in class really helped with remembering words and grammar. Ruth is an excellent teacher who is always happy to explain anything to the class.
Maria was a great teacher and made the classes fun – two hours always went very quickly. Having had no background in Spanish I feel I have learned a lot in 10 weeks. The books that come with the course and exercises are very helpful.
Really enjoyable and fun. Has given me a good understanding of the basics and will be continuing onto level 2.
