іHola! I am Maria from Jaén, a small city in southern Spain. I am a qualified teacher with a BA degree in English Language and Literature, a degree in Tourism and a Master’s degree in teaching. I have been teaching for many years including secondary schools in Spain and in London.
I love teaching Spanish but what I like the most is when my students’ confidence grows and I help them achieve their goals. I enjoy meeting new people and exchanging ideas and experiences. I always try to create dynamic, fun lessons where my students are constantly engaged.
I am looking forward to meeting you at Vamos!"
We're a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This course is part two of the Elementary A2 syllabus.
It’s a 20 hour course during which you follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.

I really enjoyed the lessons as they are always interesting but mainly fun. I’m looking forwards to progressing onto the next level.
I think level 1 is a good way to start learning Spanish. I liked that we focused on the basic verbs, but also lots of vocabulary. Elena made the course even more interesting by teaching us some Spanish saying, cultural insights about Spanish speaking countries, etc.
I think the programme is very well done for beginners!
This level was much more dynamic than the last one and I really enjoyed it. I missed a few classes which was annoying but still had a great time – even with all the grammar! I liked the games and am gaining confidence in speaking. Muchas gracias Andrea!
Much better than my previous program at a different school. Moved on with activities quickly. I found the 1 week intensive set up to be very good and learned a lot over the course.
The 5 week course is clearly going to be a lot more intense than the 10 week course, however the teaching methods used are interesting and keep you engaged throughout the class. After realising how much vocab there is to learn after each class I look forward to the 10 week course which I-m sure will be equally as interesting but should allow me to take on more words and sentence structure.
Clara was always very motivated. She has great ideas for games that make the classes a lot of fun. I really enjoyed every class and I feel I improved my Spanish a lot. Thanks Clara!
I really enjoy learning with Vamos: it makes learning fun and easy! Teacher is the most important factor on learning and practicing.
Program is very interactive which I enjoy. Inés is amazing – looking forward to level 2! It is a great mix of verbal activities/ games combined with listening tasks. We love you Ines!
The lessons are very good to cover the material and Maria presents everything in an engaging way.
