"¡Hola! I’m Andrea from Bilbao, in the north of Spain!
I have a 4-year degree in Spanish Studies from the University of Deusto, which covered linguistics, literature, grammar and the history of the Spanish language and I later qualified as a teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language.
I am an official DELE examiner (awarded by Institute Cervantes, London) for levels A1 to C2.
Since joining Vamos in September 2012, I became part of the academic department where my responsibilities included the recruitment and training of new teachers.
I am now the school's Director of Studies.
My teaching style places particular emphasis on the communicative approach and I always want my students to get the most out of their lesson.
I love teaching so much that it hardly feels like a job and I hope you enjoy your course at ¡Vamos!"
We're a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This is the first course in our A2 Elementary levels 4-6.
It’s a 20 hour course aimed at students who have already completed A1 levels 1, 2 and 3. You will follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.

Thoroughly enjoying. Plenty of time was dedicated to speaking in Spanish about your life (what you did on the weekend, what countries you have travelled to etc). This allowed you to learn words and phrases that were relevant to what you would discuss in real life.
I like the way that Amalia breaks up our lessons into different activities. Very good.
Amazing teacher, good activities and games to learn quickly.
Very enjoyable again and it was a pleasure to have Andrea as a teacher.
I am enjoying the course and am determined to continue to complete all levels. I am confident that next time when I visit Spain, I will be able to speak and understand local people, which is a great achievement. Amaya Alonso, my teacher, is an amazing person, a very gifted professional. Once again, thank you Russell for keeping this school running.
Enric was very helpful and I feel like I’ve learnt a lot. Thanks Enric!
I had an amazing weekend in Asturias. The mix of learning and socializing with the other students was perfect. The food was good and the wine flowed freely. I particularly enjoyed the market on Sunday morning where we put to good use all the Spanish we learned over the weekend. I´m looking forward to the next trip.
I loved Amaya’s energy and enthusiasm and being able to access material dealt with in the previous classes. Amaya is a talented teacher, I have learnt so much in this course despite the fact that I had been attending classes for about a year elsewhere. I have already booked onto the next level. No complaints at all.
I only spent three sessions with Noelia, but was impressed by her professionalism, ability to engage and the friendly learning environment she created.
