"¡Hola a todos! I'm Victoria from Gijón, a coastal city in the north of Spain.
I have a degree in Philology and a Master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as Foreign Language, which I obtained at the University of Oviedo. I also have a Master's degree in Teaching obtained at the University of Salamanca.
I have taught Spanish for several years in China, where I worked as an official DELE examiner for A1, A2, B1 and B2 levels at the Cervantes Institute.
I think learning a language is not only about memorising grammar or vocabulary, but enjoying it and having fun while you discover a new world. That's the reason I make communicative and enjoyable classes where students become confident in their skills and share their knowledge.
I'm looking forward to meeting you at Vamos and starting a new adventure together!"
We're a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This is the final part of our A1 course and prepares students for the Elementary A2.
It’s a 20 hour course aimed at students who have already completed A1 levels 1 and 2. You will follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.

Andrea is an excellent teacher. The course was far more conversational at this level, which really helped my learning. The classmates were also great to work with and contributed to an excellent course.
1. Teaching method is really good.
2. The support and email was extremely useful.
3. Homework – learnt so much.
I like the teaching method. It is very interactive and you learn very quickly.
I had the pleasure of learning Spanish with Joan Moar from Level 2 to Level 6 and I have only positive things to say about my instructor and lessons! Joan was the perfect instructor for me and gets an A+ rating! He is an excellent teacher: Professional, knowledgeable of the Spanish language & culture, personable, responsible, kind, and patient! He really helped me to improve speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish, as well as to learn more verb tenses, vocabulary, and to become comfortable conversing about everyday life in Spanish. Even after my lessons were moved online due to the pandemic, Joan was still able to make every lesson immersive and challenging. I am so grateful for the opportunity you gave me to help further my Spanish language learning! It was truly a great experience taking lessons from Joan and I would recommend him to anyone looking to learn or improve their Spanish.
Very well organised. The teachers have been fantastic. Lessons very good. I feel like I have learnt a lot and am much more comfortable in my ability, especially with speaking.
Really enjoyed this course (and level 1)! Love Ana 🙂 I think I’m progressing well
I thought that all aspects of the course were taught very well. Amaya is very knowledgeable and explains complicated grammar in a very easy to understand way.
Excellent enthusiasm from Andrea.
Brilliant fun and interactive
