"!Hola a todos! I am Cristina from Madrid!
I started teaching when I was 17 and loved it so much I haven’t done much else since! Everything that followed has focused my career on this path.
I have a degree in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and one in Linguistics and Literature. I also have a certificate in Teaching Spanish to Adults from Instituto Cervantes and Roehampton University and QTS in the UK.
I believe learning a language should be fun and useful, which is what I try to convey in my lessons and why I like to bring tasks from the real world into my class."
We're a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This is part two of 3 levels that form the A1 starting point to learning Spanish.
It’s a 20 hour course aimed at students who have completed level 1. You will follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.

Carol is an excellent teacher; in the two courses I’ve been on I’ve improved a lot. Classes are very entertaining and it never feels too fast or too slow! Very good/ positive experience 🙂
I thought it was very good – Sandra is an excellent teacher who is able to convey knowledge clearly, with humour and most of all patience! I have really enjoyed myself at Vamos and hope to carry on for a long time in the future. Thanks once again to Sandra and all her efforts.
I thought the classes were very good. Receiving a textbook and CV was a real bonus. I would have liked to learn a little more language specific to travelling, but we learnt a really good base for more learning. The conversation classes and trips to Spain are great ideas and winning a prize on Facebook was a nice surprise! Thank you all very much!
Very good, I have learnt a lot. I am conscious of having poorer oral comprehension, so more exercises to improve that would be good.
I only spent three sessions with Noelia, but was impressed by her professionalism, ability to engage and the friendly learning environment she created.
I thoroughly enjoyed the activities we played as they involved communicating with local Spanish people and this helped improve our Spanish.
As a whole, the program was good, we learnt a lot of new, useful things, there was enough grammar and speaking activities. It didn’t meet my objectives because of myself. I still don’t remember everything I should. ¡Gracias!
Fantástico! Es muy divertido 🙂 The audio didn’t always work (but it will on the next course!). The small class size really helps to make the lessons enjoyable and easier to learn.
The course continues to be challenging and it has been great to start to learn the past tense. I feel like I have improved my vocabulary, speaking and writing. Amaya is a great teacher, she works at a challenging pace but is very patient and is always happy to review and cover things again. She makes the class a lot of fun and clearly cares about making the classes and learning as good as they can be.
