"Hola! Qué tal? I am Paula from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I have a degree from the University of Barcelona for teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. I have worked in language institutes and French International Schools in Dubai and Hong Kong and I like my lessons to be interesting, fun and practical!
Learning a new language has to adapt to your needs to communicate, so to me the most important is to get you speaking Spanish from day one. That’s why creating the right atmosphere in class is key for everyone to feel relaxed and willing to participate.
I look forward to having the opportunity to help you learn, not only the language but also some of the culture that comes along.
See you soon at Vamos!!"
We're a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This is part two of 3 levels that form the A1 starting point to learning Spanish.
It’s a 20 hour course aimed at students who have completed level 1. You will follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.

Good teaching methods and classroom interaction.
The program is excellent. Amaya is a fantastic teacher who encourages interaction within the class and injects a lot of energy. I would say the pace of the course is slower than it could be but this is understandable given the courses cater for full-time professionals who are busy with other commitments. This could be rectified by giving students the option to accelerate their learning, e.g. by letting them skip levels with the aid of self-study.
As a beginner course this met every expectation I had. Auri was a great teacher and had a huge amount of patience and explained everything very clearly. I liked the volume of role-playing we did in each class, it helped recognise the context in which phrases and words were used. Homework and literature were all good especially inclusion of audio.
Amazing, so much fun! As an adult learner with a busy life the most important thing is for it to be fun because I would fade with exhaustion otherwise. I wish I had more time for the homework to match the excellent teaching! Will keep trying; it’s tough but very rewarding.
Very good classes with great activities. I particularly enjoyed the speaking exercises as a group. The extra exercises and tools on the website are really good.
Very fast paced but without exceeding the group’s ability. Fun and enjoyable.
The program was good and met all my expectations. I look forward to the next few stages.
I enjoyed activities in the class as well as grammar practice. All class is well- balanced.
Very good. Minus the room is sometimes very hot!
