My name is María and I am from Madrid. I have also lived in Argentina, Italy and Canada. I have a Master Degree in Audiovisual Communication and I speak 4 languages (Spanish, Italian, English and French). During the last 10 years I have gained an extensive experience in teaching (classes for adults, groups, companies, children) as well as in technical and literary translation (books for children, videogames, websites, subtitles). The wide spectrum of skills that I achieved is thanks to these different experiences and makes me able to manage different situations and deal with many kinds of people.
I am also specialised in creative writing and I am an author of some picture books for children.
We're a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This is part two of 3 levels that form the A1 starting point to learning Spanish.
It’s a 20 hour course aimed at students who have completed level 1. You will follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.

Enjoyable as ever! Paula is a great teacher and I always enjoy my lessons with her!
Great, thank you. Fantastic teacher, lots of conversation, good lessons, feedback and teaching. I’ll keep carrying on…!
It was a very enjoyable course. I like Andrea’s friendly and fun way of teaching and she always explained things well and gave us the help we needed.
The programme was well organised and well taught. I’ve learnt a lot in the last ten weeks and l’m looking forward to level 2! Paloma is a very patient teacher and explains everything really well.
I absolutely love the classes with Diana. She’s always very positive and patient. She made every lesson exciting and different. I am definitely booking the next level.
The teacher was very patient and enthusiastic. I enjoyed the different learning styles. The recap at the start of each lesson was good. The tapas and conversation classes were a great touch.
I found the program fun and interactive and it has given me a really good foundation. The conversation classes and tapas evenings are a really good idea and a great opportunity to meet people across other courses and levels.
Highly effective programme with lots of support from Marina. There is an opportunity to study at home with lots of work provided which is regularly checked by the teacher. I have found working with a small group has been beneficial for my learning as you receive more attention and support from the teacher. The five-week programme definitely works for me!
