"¡Hola! I’m Sonia, from Córdoba, a beautiful historical city in the south of Spain.
I hold a BA in English Studies, an MA in Linguistics and another Master’s Degree in Education. I also have a course from the Instituto Cervantes in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
I started teaching in my first year of university and I haven’t stopped since then. It makes 12 years now. I love teaching because it allows me to participate in something as important as the learning process of amazing individuals.
When I teach, I always try to cause, what I call, “the awe effect of your personal achievements”, which appears when you realise you are learning, understanding and producing more Spanish than you expected. I love making everyone feel comfortable and active in class, making you have fun while learning, and going home with that feeling of a satisfactory evening.
I hope to see you soon in class! ¡Hasta pronto!"
We're a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This is part two of 3 levels that form the A1 starting point to learning Spanish.
It’s a 20 hour course aimed at students who have completed level 1. You will follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.

I really enjoyed having Jessica as a teacher. After 2 levels with her I was used to her teaching style and enjoyed it. She was very patient with all of us, despite having to repeat herself a lot and dealing with numerous mistakes and questions! All good. Would recommend.
The classes are engaging and fun, it is very easy to learn in such a friendly environment. Andrea is fantastic!
Very authentic teaching and an enjoyable class. It was a pleasure to be learning with tutor Andrea.
I’ve really enjoyed the course and feel like I’ve learned a lot. The informal and interactive style of teaching is great and means that the time in the lesson goes really quickly! I’m looking forward to joining level 3 and going to more conversation classes to practise.
Maria is the best teacher, and I like learning Spanish at Vamos.
I found this Spanish programme great, exciting and very helpful. A very educative school.
Overall I enjoyed the course. I loved the variety of teaching methods and especially the use if film as a teaching aid.
Very good teaching: fun and challenging. There is always a great atmosphere and we have a lot of fun. I always have a sense of satisfaction after the lesson.
Clara, you are the best language teacher I’ve had! And I’ve had lots 🙂
Thank you for introducing me to Spanish! I’m loving it 🙂 Good luck in Costa Rica!
