"¡Hola! I’m Andrea from Bilbao, in the north of Spain!
I have a 4-year degree in Spanish Studies from the University of Deusto, which covered linguistics, literature, grammar and the history of the Spanish language and I later qualified as a teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language.
I am an official DELE examiner (awarded by Institute Cervantes, London) for levels A1 to C2.
Since joining Vamos in September 2012, I became part of the academic department where my responsibilities included the recruitment and training of new teachers.
I am now the school's Director of Studies.
My teaching style places particular emphasis on the communicative approach and I always want my students to get the most out of their lesson.
I love teaching so much that it hardly feels like a job and I hope you enjoy your course at ¡Vamos!"
We're a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This course forms part one of the Proficiency C2 syllabus
It’s a 20-hour course during which you follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.

I look forward to coming to my class each week. The levels are split into manageable sections so you feel you are progressing each week.
Vamos is fantastic! The classes are interactive and varied in content so each week it’s really easy to build on your exisiting knowledge while learning a few new things too! The atmosphere is genuienly fun and quite social so makes the two hour class worth actually doing the homework for! Not to mention class dinners out (for practical purposes) of course. All in all – thumbs up
Great, the program was satisfying and the teacher really helpful and patient. I have improved my knowledge and I would be able to have a conversation in Spanish!
Amaya’s interactive, bubbly teaching helps a to engage students and encourage interaction and further learning.
The conversation class & social events also help to encourage students to become more engaged in learning Spanish in a fun way.
This was my fourth course with Andrea and I love it. The classes are fun and Andrea is very patient; an excellent teacher. Plus, the group is growing together and we get on well.
I really like the course and think the teaching techniques are 100% suited and effective. The lessons are enthusiastic and fun and I have learnt a lot.
Very intensive, interactive and enjoyable. Felt like I learnt a lot in the 5 days.
Amaya is great, so bubbly and enthusiastic. She is very patient and really good at explaining things. I feel like my Spanish has improved a lot and I’m looking forward to continuing.
Was exactly what I was looking for in terms of (i) content, (ii) schedule, (iii) work required of me, etc.
Above all – excellent teacher!
