"іHola! I am Alba and I am from León, a small and beautiful city in the Northwest of Spain.
I have studied two degrees at the University of León (Spanish language and literature & English language and literature) and also a Master’s degree in teaching Spanish to both native and foreign students (QTS – Qualified Teacher Status). I have also worked for several institutions such as the University of Greenwich.
I am a passionate and enthusiastic teacher who is very willing to teach you some Spanish! And of course not only the language but also some of our culture.
I use the communicative approach in my classes and I try to make them as funny as possible! I truly believe learning does not have to be boring and I also try to break down complicated concepts to simple examples that you are able to understand.
I really hope you enjoy learning with us!"
We're a little different from other language schools. Our roots lie in the Spanish further education sector and here at Holborn our students have as much fun learning as we have teaching. That’s why our courses are so effective and why our students say our lessons are rewarding and so much fun.
This course forms part three of the Upper Intermediate B2 syllabus.
It’s a 20 hour course during which you will follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities, extra reading, tests, reviews, ideas, and games in pairs or groups.
We use powerful learning tools such as presentations, images, videos and audio tapes that stimulate our lessons and encourage students to engage with each other in developing the four essential skills – reading, speaking, listening and writing.

I enjoyed the course more each week as I improved and did more ‘deberes’! At first it was quite difficult to adapt to the teaching method and learning a new language in general. The course was less practical (eg. travel for holiday) than I expected but having completed the course I appreciate the topics and method was for better for my overall learning and development and that simple phrases can just be taken from a phrasebook whereas the course provided knowledge of Spain and Spanish!
The course has been very helpful and has definitely given me a good start to learning Spanish. The lesson content has been well-structured with clear objectives.
I really enjoyed my course. I felt that all the activities made it more fun and easier to learn. I can’t believe how much I know after 10 weeks. My tutor, Sara, has been fantastic and I can’t wait to start the next level.
The program was great. It mixed learning and fun. Maria is an incredible teacher and is very helpful and patient. I think overall it has been a great experience. 🙂 I would recommend Vamos to anyone who wants to learn quickly and have fun.
Good. I came knowing some Spanish but not really understanding why certain aspects were as they are. I learnt it but did not really understand why it was what it was. This course has helped me gain that basic level. I look forward to continuing my learning. Sandra was very good!
I really, really enjoyed Amaya, she is an amazing teacher. She teaches straight to the point and with a lot of passion. She makes as feel one with the group. Amazing teacher.
It was very useful and teacher Andi is great! And the school is very informative that I could choose different activities like Tapas, conversation class and so on.
Catch up class is also good.
I’ve learned a lot!
I’ve found it very nice and funny. I think it’s good learning having fun because makes things easier.
En mi opinion, the program as a whole is excellent as it offers a wide variety of learning methods, with speaking being especially useful. It was also fun with a friendly atmosphere and it was easy to rearrange lessons when necessary.
